QuoteWerks Web Setup (Starting with Microsoft SQL Backend)

IMPORTANT: The following setup instructions are for advanced IT Administrators. Experience with firewalls, and Microsoft SQL Server is required to complete these steps. DO NOT attempt to follow the instructions below if you do not have the above mentioned experience.

If the backend of your installation is already hosted on Microsoft SQL, you have several options on how to proceed depending upon if you want to keep your existing SQL database or move it to a different hosted location.

Select your scenario and then follow the corresponding steps below to properly setup your installation for QuoteWerks Web.

Your Microsoft SQL Database is currently located on an on-premise Microsoft SQL Server:

  1. You can: Keep your SQL Database on your on-premise Microsoft SQL Server:
    1. First, follow the instructions in the topic Configuring Your Firewall for QuoteWerks Web On-Premise Database Hosting.
    2. Second, follow the instructions for Setting Up QuoteWerks Web in QuoteWerks Desktop.
  2. You can: Rehost to QuoteWerks Database Hosting Service:
    1. First, follow the instructions in the topic Rehost QuoteWerks to QuoteWerks Database Hosting Service.
    2. Second, follow the instructions in the topic Setting up QuoteWerks Web in QuoteWerks Desktop with the QuoteWerks Database Hosting Service.
  3. You can: Rehost to a 3rd-party Database Hosting Provider (Amazon, Azure, etc.):
    1. First, the Desktop version of QuoteWerks that you are rehosting needs to have an external static IP address. You will need to whitelist your external static IP address with the 3rd-party Database Hosting Provider.
    2. Second, follow the instructions in the topic Rehost QuoteWerks to 3rd Party Database Hosting Service.
    3. Third, configure the 3rd-party Database Hosting Provider's firewall to provide access to QuoteWerks Web. This means whitelisting the QuoteWerks Web IPs addresses of 52.237.138.167 and 209.208.98.51.
    4. Fourth, follow the instructions in the topic Setting up QuoteWerks Web in QuoteWerks Desktop.

Your Microsoft SQL Database is currently located on a 3rd-party Database Hosting Provider (Amazon, Azure, etc.):

  1. You are already rehosted, so you just need to configure for QuoteWerks Web:
    1. First, configure the 3rd-party Database Hosting Provider's firewall to provide access to QuoteWerks Web. This means whitelisting the QuoteWerks Web IP addresses of 52.237.138.167 and 209.208.98.51.
    2. Second, follow the instructions in the topic Setting up QuoteWerks Web in QuoteWerks Desktop.
