Can I use QuoteWerks Web if my company still uses QuickBooks Desktop?

Yes. You can still use the QuickBooks Desktop integration if you are using the hybrid platform of using both QuoteWerks Desktop and QuoteWerks Web.

Typically, we see our users handle quoting and sales activity through the web platform and then use QuoteWerk Desktop for the accounting integration with QuickBooks Desktop.

If you use QuickBooks Online, both Desktop and Web have native integrations with QuickBooks Online.

Is QuoteWerks Web hosted by QuoteWerks?
Yes, QuoteWerks Web is fully hosted and maintained by us — no servers or upgrades required on your end  — unless you want to. You have the option to host your own database, but we can handle that for you.
Do you have a fully hosted version of QuoteWerks?

Yes. With QuoteWerks Web, you now have the flexibility to choose how you work:

  • Standalone Web – New customers can run QuoteWerks entirely in the cloud with no desktop installation required. All your quoting, CRM, and distributor integrations are available in a modern, fully hosted solution.
  • Hybrid Web + Desktop – Existing QuoteWerks Desktop customers can continue to use Desktop while also using QuoteWerks Web with the QuoteWerks Web Addon. Your team can quote from anywhere in the browser, while still using Desktop for administrative tasks (like modifying reports, procurement, or QuickBooks Desktop integration) or for sales reps who prefer the desktop client. Coming soon in 2026, once QuoteWerks Web has more a more complete feature parity with Desktop, you can easily migrate fully to QuoteWerks Web.

Behind the scenes, we now host the QuoteWerks database for you—removing the need to maintain your own SQL server. Whether you’re all-in on the web or running a hybrid environment, you get the same trusted QuoteWerks features built over 25+ years, now available in the cloud.

QuoteWerks Web is rapidly growing with new features and capabilities. For teams that need the most advanced functionality today, QuoteWerks Desktop remains the fully robust option—and it works seamlessly alongside Web. This gives you the best of both worlds: proven stability now, with continuous innovation for the future.

As an existing QuoteWerks Desktop customer, how many QuoteWerks Web Licenses do I need?

You only need as many QuoteWerks Web licenses as users that will be using QuoteWerks Web at the same time.

You will need at least one QuoteWerks Desktop License for each QuoteWerks Web License.

Practical Example:
If you have a QuoteWerks Desktop 5-user Corporate Edition license and 2 QuoteWerks Web licenses, you can have a maximum of 2 people using the web interface of QuoteWerks and 3 people using QuoteWerks Desktop.

So in short, whether you are using QuoteWerks through the web or the desktop, you use a Desktop license.

The number of users that can be in QuoteWerks Web at the same time is limited by the number of Web licenses that you have.
